Hey, everyone. It’s Frank. Like any family these days, we’re trying to cut back and save money wherever we can. Hey, we’ve even made an online game out of it!

Unfortunately, people will often sacrifice their well-being and health to save a few dollars here and there. They’ll go out and wolf down one dollar double cheeseburgers or ramen noodles thinking that the money they save on dinner is worth the hit their health is taking. Not true. By doing that, they may be saving a bit right now, but the medical bills that they’ll incur in the future because of those abysmal eating habits will cost them much more down the road than the price of eating healthy right now. But being healthy and eating right doesn’t have to break the bank.

Here are a few Frugal tips:

Eat healthy, smaller portions. Most people eat way more than they actually need to, and this is a big reason for the majority of the health problems in this country. By eating the right foods, but in smaller portions, you won’t be gorging yourself, and you should immediately notice a healthy reduction in your grocery bill.

Get your exercise from your daily activities. Gyms are ridiculously expensive, and it can be very intimidating walking into a gym when you’re not comfortable with your current physical appearance. So find ways to exercise at and around the home. If you need to go to the grocery store to pick up a few items, why not walk or jog? Good cardiovascular exercise and calorie burning that would go to waste if you got in the car and drove, not to mention the waste of gas. You can also purchase an at home, multi-purpose gym if you’re really committed to your cause.

Take advantage of the library. “But how can the library help me get in shape?” Easy! Libraries offer a wealth of free weight loss and exercise resources, and you can also rent exercise DVD’s for no cost. Tell me, what’s not to love about that?

So there you go. Three exceptionally easy ways to get started on the path to healthy, frugal living. I know you’ve got some input to share. Let’s hear it! See you tomorrow!

This is wear eating fruits and vegetables in season comes in. Find new recipes using the food that is in season and save a bundle. There’s also nothing wrong with canned or frozen foods; many times they’re more nutritious then fresh food that has been in the store for a while.
