It turns out that there is such a thing as a free meal. Following the success of last year’s event, Denny’s is again offering a free “Grand Slam” breakfast to anyone in the United States. They’ll announce the event during the Super Bowl.

Expect it to be crowded, though: last year about two million people took them up on the offer. In the past, this sort of event has led to copycat offers–so maybe we’ll see more free food in the coming months.

I’ve taken my son and his friends to this before…if you don’t get there early the line winds around the building. My son and his buddies always try to smile a lot so they can get a second meal for free (all 6”+ basketball players). It never works…they’re charming but not that charming…;-)
