Hi everyone, It’s Frannie Frugal! St. Patrick’s Day is here and parties are a great way to show your Irish spirit. My friends and I like to throw parties for all different occasions. No matter how big or small your party will be this year, here are some great ideas on how to party by saving a few extra bucks.
Invitations - The easiest and cheapest way to send invitations to your party is sending them online. For example, with Evite.com you can create your own invitation with a variety of designs. You are able to enter the date, time and place and anything special instructions you want to tell your guests. You can also manage your invitation by receiving RSVP notifications. It doesn’t cost a thing plus you are being environmentally conscious by not sending out paper invitations. Save a few trees!
Decorations - You can find inexpensive decorations and supplies for your St. Patrick’s Day party at places such as a dollar store. These types of stores have great novelty items like cups, napkins, table cloths. You can also find grab gift items to give out to your guests. Another great resource is finding images or clipart you can print and use as decorations.
Munchies - Since my friends and I can buy what our allowance can afford, the best way to save on food is BYOF (Bring Your Own Food). If you are expecting a large crowd, have everyone take a part in sharing their favorite Irish dish. My fav food for St. Patrick’s Day is corn beef and cabbage, yum yum!
Have Fun - This is the most important part for any party. Having my family and friends come together to have a great time doesn’t cost a thing. No matter if your plans don’t go as smoothly as you would like, keep in mind that sharing time with those you care about the most makes the party happen.
A bit o’ the luck o’ the Irish t’ ye!
